The International Water Association (IWA), Amsterdam RAI (organizers of Aquatech Amsterdam) and Waternetwork have announced details of the conference program that will run simultaneously with the Aquatech Amsterdam exhibition later this year. The three key subjects will be industrial water treatment, membrane plants and the Millennium sanitation goals. By ensuring that the subjects covered are highly relevant to those attending Aquatech, the conferences provide significant added value to visitors and exhibitors.
From Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, 2008, professionals from across the world of water will come to Amsterdam for four days of networking and business. Aquatech Amsterdam has a reputation for providing an all-around experience that enhances the know-how of all who attend. The 2008 event will take this philosophy further as IWA and Aquatech work closely together to fine-tune their activities with each other’s goals.
“The subjects covered at the conferences will accurately reflect the requirements Aquatech visitors have in terms of knowledge acquisition,” said Paul Reiter, executive director of IWA. “To further ensure that maximum synergies are achieved between the conferences and the exhibition, the conference topics are focused on the key issues in today’s water industry. This will ultimately provide extra opportunities for knowledge exchange and networking.”
Millennium Development Goals on Sanitation (Sept. 30 – Oct. 1)
The implementation of the Millennium development goals on sanitation are behind schedule and this conference aims to give the fresh impulse required to keep this item high on the political agenda. Best practices and case studies related to water partnerships will be examined. There will be space for innovations, the implementation of new sanitation concepts and the social-spatial embedding of innovative sanitation solutions.
Design and Operation of Membrane Plants for Water, Wastewater and Industrial Effluents (Oct. 1 – Oct. 2)
The aim is to advance knowledge and experience in the area of membrane plants for the treatment of drinking and industrial water and waste water. The conference will encourage international cooperation in relation to membrane performance, cost reductions, energy consumption, process integration, waste production and enhancing the importance of pre-treatment.
Industrial Water Treatment Systems (Oct. 2 – Oct. 3)
This new conference will focus on water developments from an industry perspective, including the use and re-use of water, the need for tailor-made solutions to water demand and wastewater treatment & disposal, the use of energy and CO² emissions. Suppliers will present new technologies and trends in the water industry will be discussed.
