  • Pump Systems Matter to Participate in 2009 ACEEE Summer Study

July event will focus on energy efficiency in industry
    June 30, 2009

Pump Systems Matter (PSM), a new Ally Partner of the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) organization, has announced their participation in the 2009 ACEEE Industrial Summer Study.

The 2009 ACEEE Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Industry titled “Timing is Everything: Moving Investment Decisions to Energy-Efficient Solutions,” is attended by participants around the world, including energy decision makers, equipment manufacturers, government policymakers, electric and gas utility staff, energy consultants, leading industrial energy researchers and academics.

It will take place from July 28 to 31 at the Conference Center Niagara Falls in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

Participants will discuss technical, policy, financing and program issues related to increasing energy efficiency in industry.

Mike Pemberton, performance services manager of ITT Plant Performance Services, a charter sponsor of PSM, will be presenting a White Paper titled, “Pump Systems Performance Impacts Multiple Bottom Lines,” on Thursday, July 30 at 8:30 a.m. Pemberton will discuss how pump optimization practices on a facility-wide basis can increase plant profitability and asset reliability, reduce costs, while improving corporate citizenship through the implementation of energy and greenhouse gas emission reduction methodologies.

In addition to the White Paper presentation, PSM will also be conducting an informal session at the ACEEE Summer Study on Wednesday, July 29 from 3 p.m.–4:30 p.m. The informal session will focus on the course content of the enhanced version of the one-day course, “Pumping Systems Optimization: Opportunities to Improve Life Cycle Performance,” and the opportunities to become a host location for the course. The course focuses on pumping system optimization, energy savings opportunities and lifecycle costing.
