Provides Proven Technology for Gathering, Distributing and Using Data
Emerson Process Management, a business of Emerson, has formed an alliance with OSIsoft that will enable manufacturers to more quickly and accurately respond to business issues, reduce costs, enhance productivity and drive profitability.
Whether automating new facilities or upgrading existing systems, the alliance enables Emerson and OSIsoft customers to link their process automation systems with real-time operational data from OSIsoft, the leading provider of real-time performance management software. The alliance also provides a solid foundation for continuously improving engineering, consulting, project management and maintenance services.
Emerson and OSIsoft will provide comprehensive solutions comprised of Emerson's PlantWeb® digital plant architecture and OSIsoft's Real-time Information Management software (RtPM™). Emersons PlantWeb uses state-of-the-art systems, software and intelligent field devices to deliver real-time automation and performance information to personnel running manufacturing facilities. OSIsoft provides an unmatched software platform to help plant personnel capture, analyze, distribute and visualize real-time information so decisions can be made rapidly to maximize productivity.
"This alliance will enhance Emersons ability to deliver real-time information to help new and upgraded facilities optimize performance and reliability," said Steve Colella, vice president of business development for the solutions division of Emerson Process Management. "The combination of PlantWeb and OSIsofts RtPM brings together innovative, proven technology for gathering, distributing and using data to improve plant throughput, quality and uptime."
Another key aspect of the alliance is that it provides customers access to Emerson and OSIsofts industry-specific engineering, consulting, project management and maintenance services for the chemical, oil and gas, refining, life sciences, power, and water and waste industries, among others, Colella said.
"Real-time data management is critical to process manufacturing success," said Michael Saucier, OSIsofts vice president of marketing. "The information solutions implemented by OSIsoft and Emerson will enable manufacturers to unlock hidden efficiencies and improve business management."
