Breweries need power to produce beer, and power plants need consistent, high-quality water to operate effectively. Because source water varies based on location, water chemistry and time of year, a power station for a major North American brewing company turned to Dow Water & Process Solutions and Consolidated Water Solutions to deliver a means to a flavorful, full-bodied and satisfying end.

RO elements help brewery power plant meet feedwater requirements
AWWA CEO David LaFrance thanks water professionals nationwide for keeping water safe for drinking
Dec. 16, 2014, marked the 40th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), which today includes regulations for more than 90 contaminants. American Water Works Assn. (AWWA) CEO David LaFrance issued the following statement to mark the occasion.
X2 RO systems are engineered to produce high-purity water by reducing dissolved minerals, bacteria and organic impurities with product water outputs from 57,600 to 468,000 gpd. The systems are ideal for customers seeking efficient water treatment solutions for drinking water, cooling towers, boiler feed, food processing, bottling, agriculture and a variety of other applications.
ScaleBlaster eliminates the formation of lime-scale deposits in pipes, cooling towers, boilers and more. The integrated circuitry system produces a complex modulating frequency waveform that hits the resonant frequency of the calcium molecules, causing them to lose their adhesive properties. Existing scale is removed without the need for chemicals, salt or maintenance.
The RO system has proven to be very reliable, and has been offline less than 1% of the time for maintenance, filter changes and membrane cleanings.
