Reverse osmosis (RO) has become the standard technology for water purification in numerous commercial and industrial applications. This trend has largely been driven by the advancement of low-pressure RO membranes with enhanced energy savings. Axeon Water Technologies is a leader in utilizing innovative proprietary technology for increasing permeate production while lowering operating pressures in RO applications.
In my previous article, “Ultrafiltration: A Business Growth Opportunity” (September 2013), I referenced a 2010 BBC research report stating that “the U.S. market for ultrafiltration (UF) technologies was worth $940 million in 2010. It is estimated to be valued at $1.24 billion by 2015.”1 Simply put, the business opportunities for UF are growing rapidly, which could prove extremely profitable for the savvy professional water dealer.

Bottled water quality without the hassle or cost. Includes choice of 50 or 75 gpd membranes, sediment pre-filtration, pre- and post-carbon block filtration, quick-connect fittings, proprietary cartridge design that makes replacement easy and helps ensure replacement business, color-coded tubing, chrome faucet, storage tank and optional cartridges for custom test-based solutions.
Marketing program will engage membrane resellers into the CSM's sales and marketing channels
CSM/Woongjin Chemical America Inc., the Anaheim, Calif.-based manufacturer of reverse osmosis/nanofiltration membranes, has released a new marketing program designed to engage membrane resellers into its sales and marketing channels.
Performance tested by the U.S. EPA, the Multi-Barrier System provides > 4-log reduction of Cryptosporidium and viruses, meeting disinfection requirements for the Ground Water Rule, Groundwater Under the Direct Influence of surface water and Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule. It includes three treatment stages: sediment filtration, charged membrane filter and UV. It offers flow rates from 8 to 480 gpm, with capabilities for monitoring flow, filter life and UV status to provide fail-safe disinfection protection.
NRO Commercial Series reverse osmosis (RO) systems are custom built by Nelsen Corp. to customer specifications. These quality, cost-efficient systems offer a multitude of standard features that are optional on many other RO systems.
NSF-grade high-quality parts are used to build this tough system. All NRO commercial systems are wet tested to optimum pressure and production prior to shipment, and are delivered with individual quality assurance reports to show actual performance data on outputs and rejections.

Filmtec BW30-8040 elements have been used for the past 21 years at the Antelope Valley Station, a lignite coal-based power plant in North Dakota operated by Basin Electric Power Cooperative. In 1992, the plant sought a cost-effective solution to treat feedwater from its Lake Sakakawea source — a reservoir of Missouri River water.
