Isaac Plains is an open-cut coal mine in northern Queensland, Australia, that operates under an environmental authority. One of the environmental monitoring requirements that must be met is water monitoring. This includes monitoring potable water, mine-affected water, natural creek flows, water releases, groundwater and the receiving environment.
Onsite testing technology helps mine meet water monitoring requirements
The SA1100 scanning analyzer provides portable drinking water testing for lead and copper. The lightweight, waterproof analyzer is capable of field or laboratory analysis. Tests are conducted with disposable sensors, with results in less than three minutes. Up to 500 results can be stored with time and date information. Data can be downloaded to PC or tablet devices for logging and tracking. Tests are guided with onscreen prompts on the LCD monitor.
The MultiLab IDS line of laboratory instruments and smart sensors includes one-, two- and three-channel instruments that each measure up to three para-meters at a time, as well as smart digital probes for optical-based BOD5, pH, ORP and conductivity measurement. The line has easy-to-use and -calibrate menu-driven operation and improved data integrity and security.
This microprocessor-based pH indicator-controller provides a complete monitoring and recording system for industrial wastewater. Two process controllers are provided to activate alarms, pumps, etc., based on preset pH or millivolt set points. The unit can be mounted with 1/8 DIN or in a NEMA 4X enclosure. The recorder can be configured for either a 24-hour or seven-day chart with 0 to 14 pH. The system can be provided complete with probe and buffer solutions to calibrate.
The COM-80 is an economically priced, water-resistant handheld tester for electrical conductivity and TDS, featuring four built-in modes (μS, mS, ppm and ppt). It also includes onscreen diagnostic messaging and temperature on a large four-digit LCD. The tester was co-designed in the U.S. and Korea and is backed by a one-year factory warranty.
The PT2 pH and temperature pen is designed to be extremely accurate, fast and simple to use in diverse water quality applications. Advanced features include temperature compensation; one-, two- and three-point calibration; choice of continuous and snapshot measurement modes; and waterproof housing. A true one-handed instrument, it is easy to calibrate and use. To take a measurement, simply push a button, then dip in solution.
