AWWA CEO David LaFrance thanks water professionals nationwide for keeping water safe for drinking
Dec. 16, 2014, marked the 40th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), which today includes regulations for more than 90 contaminants. American Water Works Assn. (AWWA) CEO David LaFrance issued the following statement to mark the occasion.
The AirMax 3000 is a full-sized upright atmospheric water harvester that extracts water from the air and turns it into drinking water. These units are equipped with an electronic control system that turns the machine on and off when full and circulates the water to maintain clean drinking water 24 hours a day. Humidity levels and filter changing requirements are indicated with digital displays. The system can produce up to 8 gal of drinking water per day.
The quick-change, auto shutoff, environmentally friendly QT drinking water filter is ideal for water cooler and residential filter applications. Removing the filter body from the head automatically switches off the water. An integral mounting bracket incorporated into the head makes installation quick. Push-fit connections in the head, available in either ¼- or 3/8-in. sizes, ensure rapid connection.
LaMar Hunt will advance Pionetics’ business development efforts in the POU water cooler industry
Pionetics named LaMar Hunt vice president of water coolers. Hunt will be based in Florida; however, he will serve clients around the globe and his primary role will be to advance Pionetics’ business development efforts in the point-of-use (POU) water cooler industry.
When bottled water sales boomed in the mid-1990s, food service and hospitality operators and distributors learned that leasing point-of-use (POU) water vending products that offered fresh cold water and hot water-based beverages could be very profitable.
Treating Vending Water
There are two common types of water cooler vending systems: mains-fed from the tap and bottled water coolers. In any environment, it is important to know how to select the right type of filtration.
Filtration options to provide the best water
Nothing is constant except change itself. Water coolers and water vending machines are not exempt from this old adage. Think of a water cooler. What comes to mind? Most typically, a picture of the standalone device that has a 5-gal bottle of “purified” water positioned on the top. These types of coolers would serve cold, ambient or hot water.
When the bottle would run low on water, miraculously a stranger would show up and replace the bottle with a fresh, new bottle. A continuous source of tasty water at your desired temperature.
