WaterSense releases final specification for commercial pre-rinse spray valves
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) WaterSense program released a final specification for water- and energy-efficient commercial pre-rinse spray valves, the first commercial kitchen product eligible to earn the WaterSense label. Pre-rinse spray valves — used in commercial food service establishments to remove food waste from dishes prior to dishwashing — can account for nearly one-third of the water used in the typical commercial kitchen.
The MNRUB water control valve is an alternative to machined brass valves. It has thermoplastic injection molding on the three plastic valve body components and transfer molding on the NSF 61-compliant, chloramine-resistant rubber seals and O-rings. Through the use of finite element analysis, wall thickness is optimized, conserving plastic material while increasing overall valve strength with less weight and reducing total cost. It has a non-corrosive reinforced thermoplastic body. Each welded valve is leak and pressure tested prior to shipping.
