Transfer plant floor data to Oracle, Citect and SQL server databases monitor multiple plant control systems with single user interface

Ci Technologies, Inc. announced that it will introduce Plant2Business Solutions--a powerful new suite of software products providing business-wide reporting, analysis and management of plant floor data--to industry representatives at the upcoming ISA 2001 tradeshow in Houston, Texas, Sept. 10-13. (Booth #2368)

"Plant2Business is an industrial strength information management system that allows users to manage and transfer plant or industrial process data throughout their entire business organizations using open-technologies and pre-integrated solutions," said Frank Volckmar, vice president, sales and marketing.

"Plant2Business provides visualization of plant floor data throughout the entire business organization, over the Internet, as well as highly reliable and powerful data mapping between different business applications and process control monitoring systems, without requiring custom code. It is also the first commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software product to combine all of these capabilities in a single package."

At the heart of Plant2Business are two key components: Plant2Business Server and Plant2NET. Plant2Business Server facilitates the business-wide sharing of plant information through a single easy-to-use interface, native connectors, and a high-performance event engine. Pre-built connectors to Oracle, SQL Server and Citect databases are fully integrated into Plant2Business Server, which is capable of managing data flow between a diverse range of plant and business applications. Ci Technologies is also developing additional connectors for all major plant control monitoring systems.

Industry standard applications including Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel and Crystal Reports are used for client applications. The Crystal Reports generator connects directly and easily to Plant2Business Server, enabling customers using this product to produce a complete range of custom or user defined reports to suit the unique needs of their business organizations. And Plant2NET further expands the power and versatility of Plant2Business Server by making plant floor data available to web-based clients.

Using open, scalable architecture the Plant2Business family of solutions provides everything needed to acquire and analyze historical, alarm and process data from the plant floor and then share it with the rest of the business enterprise.

Key features and benefits:

  • Connection to multiple plant control systems allows users to display data from different areas of the plant, or different systems around the world, in a single user interface.
  • Data can be freely transferred between data sources, including a variety of control monitoring systems, SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  • High level security: Plant2Business allows you to define access down to the individual tag level.
  • Plant2Business Server allows you to install the software, publish data and see plant floor data on the screen - all in just a few minutes.
  • By leveraging industry standard technologies, Plant2Business Solutions deliver both simplicity and flexibility in a single easy-to-use package.
