Earth Tech Successfully Assumes Operations of Sturgeon Bay Water and Wastewater Utilities

August 3, 2006

Earth Tech, Inc., a business unit of Tyco Intl., Ltd., and a global provider of consulting, engineering and construction services, successfully assumed control of the Sturgeon Bay Utilities’ water and wastewater treatment systems, which serve more than 10,000 residents in the city of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and in surrounding townships.

Earth Tech has been awarded a 10-year contract by the locally owned and operated Sturgeon Bay Utilities to provide operating services to the resort town, which is located about an hour northeast of Green Bay. The company will also be responsible for water distribution and wastewater collection within the Utilities’ service area.

“It was important for us to seek out firms that are capable of continuing our tradition of operating this aspect of our utility efficiently while maintaining our high standards for customer service,” said David English, operations manager for Sturgeon Bay Utilities. “All of the contractors that we solicited met the stringent requirements that were outlined in our request for proposals. Earth Tech was able to provide the best overall package, and we are excited about the opportunities that this new relationship will provide for the utility and our customers.”

Earth Tech currently operates water and wastewater treatment facilities worldwide, including in the U.S., Canada, Mexico,
Australia and China.

“As a company, Earth Tech strives to go beyond the day-to-day operation of a facility to find ways to improve its overall performance,” said Keith Oldewurtel, senior vice president of Earth Tech’s North American Contract Operations. “With this new relationship, the beneficiaries of our commitment to excellence will be the Sturgeon Bay utility users, who will continue to receive high quality service at an affordable price.”
