Email Marketing Company Launches Facebook Campaign to Benefit charity: water
Silverpop to donate $1 to charity: water for each new Facebook page fan
Email marketing company Silverpop announced the launch of a Facebook marketing innovations sweepstakes campaign. The campaign offers marketers the chance to win prizes while Silverpop makes donations on their behalf to charity: water, a nonprofit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to developing nations. The sweepstakes began Nov. 21 and runs through January 2012.
"The holidays mark the season to celebrate success, as well as to reach out and help others," said Eric Holmen, senior vice president of marketing for Silverpop. "Silverpop is launching this sweepstakes so marketers can voice their challenges and hopes for the new year, in addition to supporting a terrific cause. We've worked with charity: water in the past, and we know from firsthand experience that it's an exceptional organization."
The campaign is geared toward marketers and will run exclusively on Silverpop's Facebook page. For each new fan, the company will donate $1 to charity: water, with a maximum of $5,000—the average cost of a water project that will provide clean water to an entire community—over the course of the entire promotion. One participant will be randomly selected at the end of each week to receive a $100 American Express gift card. Additionally, one winner will be selected at the close of each campaign to receive a new MacBook Air.
"Silverpop has been an incredibly valuable partner to us for nearly two years now, generously donating their platform and helping us maximize our email marketing efforts" said Paull Young, director of digital engagement for charity: water. "We're very grateful for their continued support, including this timely campaign aimed at raising enough funds to build a water project."
