September’s featured dealership, Aqua Serve of Broomfield, Colo., has a unique way of preparing for the day: Each morning, owner and General Manager Mike Schmitt leads the staff in stretching exercises combined with some informal education. “That becomes not only a stretching exercise to limber everybody up so that they don’t get injured during the day, but also a point of conversation where they can kick around stuff,” Schmitt said.

This daily routine not only provides the staff with an outlet to discuss questions or challenges that come up in their daily work, but also fosters bonding and team building. Whether simple and casual, like stretching and discussion, or more formally planned, like company picnics or holiday parties, such activities promote a healthier, happier work environment.
