Florida’s Pasco County Selects InfoWater for GIS Modeling
GIS-centric engineering modeling and design technology enhances planning and management capabilities
MWH Soft, a global provider of environmental and water resources applications software, has announced that Pasco County, Fla., has selected MWH Soft InfoWater software for its enterprise GIS hydraulic modeling. In its search for efficient GIS integration, advanced querying and comprehensive geospatial network analysis, optimization and presentation, the county opted for InfoWater, the ArcGIS-centric (ESRI, Redlands, Calif.) water distribution modeling and management technology.
Located on the Gulf of Mexico in the Tampa Bay area, Pasco County is the 38th fastest-growing county in the country, serving approximately 463,000 people within a 745-sq-mile area. Its water system includes four connection points with Tampa Bay Water (local wholesaler), 60 wells and 1,500 miles of distribution pipes. The county plans to use InfoWater to develop a detailed hydraulic model of its drinking water infrastructure, which it will use to optimize its operational effectiveness and capital improvement projects.
Developed and supported by industry experts, the innovative network modeling “We selected InfoWater because it has the power, functionality and full-range capabilities we need to effectively integrate all our modeling and design activities directly with our GIS to increase productivity and create seamless workflows,” said Glenn Greer, P.E., director of utilities engineering at Pasco County. “We were also highly impressed by the software’s ease of use, flexibility and value, add-ins, as well as the customer support and track record of MWH Soft. Modeling our system in ArcGIS using MWH Soft InfoWater software will help us develop optimized solutions at maximum savings, and deliver greater value to our customers.”
