Blimp ride to be auctioned at the Lighthouse Point Chili Cook Off
The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. endorsed the efforts of Wishing Well International Foundation (WWIF) by donating a blimp ride for two people, which will be auctioned off at the upcoming Lighthouse Point Chili Cook Off and Tennis Round Robin on April 27, 2013. The certificate issued by Goodyear will be good for a year and the winner of the ride will schedule the one-hour flight directly with the company. The blimp is housed at the Pompano Beach, Fla., hangar where the flight will start.
The foundation is also hosting its second annual golf tournament in Indianapolis, where the Water Quality Assn. (WQA) is hosting the WQA Aquatech USA 2013 convention and exhibition. The foundation is still looking for tournament sponsors and players. The fee to play is $250. Those who are not able to join the golf tournament can consider a sponsorship or a donation to the foundation. One hundred percent of the money raised will be dedicated to projects with the Safe Water Team, a WWIF partner, with distribution centers in Kenya, Ghana, the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Honduras.
“Receiving support from Goodyear is a major breakthrough, and we urge members of the industry and other corporations to reconsider the efforts and mission of the foundation and support us,” said Guillermo Guzman, WWIF’s founder and CEO. “We are here to stay and will continue improving people’s quality of life by providing them with clean, safe drinking water; the more corporations exercise corporate social responsibility, the more impact we will have."
