National Groundwater Awareness Week promotes groundwater and water well stewardship
Groundwater industry professionals have an opportunity to educate the public about groundwater and water well stewardship during National Groundwater Awareness Week, March 10 to 16, 2013.
This year represents the 15th edition of this event, sponsored by the National Ground Water Assn. (NGWA), said NGWA Public Awareness Director Cliff Treyens.
“Every groundwater professional, company or organization should seize this opportunity to showcase groundwater as the enormously important resource that it is,” Treyens said. “In the process, those who promote groundwater will have an excellent opportunity to showcase their companies.”
Treyens said there still is time for the groundwater industry to promote groundwater and water well stewardship during National Groundwater Awareness Week. More information is available at www.ngwa.org/awarenessweek. Here, you will find sections dealing with promotional tools for groundwater professionals, including a sample letter to the editor and news release; customizable radio spots on the need for water well checkups; a newspaper ad, a flier and poster; one-page consumer information sheets on various water well issues; and three three-minute educational videos.
