Water possibly contaminated by industrial solvent
The state of Illinois is urging residents who get drinking water from private wells in Woodstock to get it tested for contamination.
According to a report by the Chicago Tribune, tests by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) found that the water supply was possibly contaminated by an industrial solvent. According to an Illinois EPA spokesman, the solvent was at a level that usually is not reason for concern, but the level could be higher in some areas.
The Illinois Department of Public Health recommends that residents have their water tested at a private laboratory.
