Kroger Recalls Purified Drinking Water

Consumers are advised to return the jugs and dump the water

Kroger recalls purified drinking water

On Dec. 4, the grocery chain Kroger recalled “Comfort for Baby Purified Water with Fluoride Added.” The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a consumer alert stating that the mold Talaromyces penicillium was found in the purified water.

According to the FDA, the mold could affect infants who have a condition that causes their immune system to be compromised. Additionally, the mold may cause an allergic reaction.

While the gallon jugs of water are clear, the mold is not visible to the naked eye. The recalled items have sell by dates from 4/26/2018 to 10/10/2018.
