Richard Velletri, senior loss control consultant from The Hartford Group, will make his industry safe practice adviser debut at the National Ground Water Assn.’s 2011 Ground Water Expo and Annual Meeting, taking place Nov. 29 to Dec. 2 in Las Vegas.
Velletri, a certified safety professional, holds degrees in construction management and occupational safety and health, and has more than 30 years experience in the insurance industry, specializing in construction and workers’ compensation. He will present two workshops at the NGWA Ground Water Expo:
• “Effective Fleet Management,” which will detail the steps that can be taken to minimize losses regarding over-the-road business vehicles, as well as the role proper orientation and training of employees plays in the process; and
• “How Groundwater Contractors Can Avoid the Most Common Industry Losses,” which will discuss concrete ways to minimize injuries and property losses prevalent in the industry due to slips and falls, materials handling and electrocution.
Velletri will also be working with the NGWA Safety Subcommittee as a consultant on future industry safe-practice initiatives, according to Kathy Butcher, NGWA director of professional development.
