Meeting will gather stakeholder input regarding water and wastewater infrastructure and research needs
NSF International is the cooperating partner with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on two projects related to the performance verification of technologies related to water and wastewater. The EPA program is known as the Environmental Technology Verification Program, which has a number of centers, two being the ones managed by NSF. The NSF centers are the Drinking Water Systems Center and the Water Quality Protection Center. Further information about the ETV Program and Centers can be found at the ETV website: www.epa.gov/etv/.
EPA has funded several projects relating to water and wastewater infrastructure, which will involve ETV as well as other contractors.
NSF is organizing a meeting to obtain stakeholder input regarding water and wastewater infrastructure, including identifying current and emerging technologies related to condition assessment, capacity development and rehabilitation. They will also seek stakeholder input to identify water and wastewater infrastructure research needs.
The stakeholder meeting will be held on June 19, 2008, in Baltimore, Md. The meeting notice is shown on the ETV website at www.epa.gov/etv/events.html#061908.
