Overall attendance for 62nd annual event was fifth highest ever
In spite of a down economy, the National Ground Water Assn.’s (NGWA) 2010 Expo and Annual Meeting posted one of its strongest showings ever with a fifth-best overall attendance of 5,016 and an all-time record number of exhibiting firms.
NGWA Executive Director Kevin McCray called the numbers “amazing.”
“I draw at least two conclusions from these amazing numbers: First, there is optimism about the future of the groundwater industry and, two, NGWA is of real value to our member professionals in a difficult economic time,” he said. “This is a real encouragement for NGWA to push to greater heights in both advancing groundwater knowledge and helping groundwater professionals to excel.”
Among the statistical highlights of NGWA’s 62nd annual meeting:
Fifth-largest number of contractors (2,345);
First in number of exhibiting companies and organizations (321);
Fourth-largest number of suppliers (671);
Fifth-largest number of scientists and engineers (483);
36 countries represented; and
More than 80 hours of continuing education.
The 2011 NGWA Expo and Annual Meeting will take place Nov. 29 to Dec. 2 in Las Vegas.
