Tickets now on sale for 17th annual event
WaterCan announced that tickets are available for the annual Embassy Dinner: A Wellspring of Hope. This year’s dinner, to be held May 6 at the historic Aberdeen Pavilion, marks the 17th consecutive Embassy Dinner hosted in support of clean drinking water projects in the developing world.
The gala fundraiser, made possible through the support of the Ottawa, Canada, diplomatic community and nearly 100 volunteers, has raised more than $1 million in support of clean water projects throughout eastern Africa. “By eating our way around the world during this one-of-a-kind event, we’ve helped to improve thousands of lives by providing access to one of life’s most basic needs: clean water,” said Gary Pluim, WaterCan’s executive director.
The event will feature a “Buffet Of Nations.” Embassies and high commissions representing more than 30 countries will offer a varied assortment of culinary specialties from their respective homelands. As always, the live and silent auctions will be filled with unique and exciting items for bidding, and the “Parade of Nations” will finish off the evening with multicultural flair.
Tickets are $150 each with a $100 charitable tax receipt, and can be purchased by calling WaterCan at 613.230.5182 or by visiting the WaterCan website at www.watercan.com .
