Line of accessories is made with recycled water bottles
In honor of Earth Day, MATT & NAT, a pioneer in eco-fashion, is donating $21 from each purchase of the limited edition Ikat collection to benefit charity: water, a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. One hundred percent of public donations directly fund water projects. MATT & NAT designs accessories that are not only vegan but also use an average of 21 recycled water bottles to create each socially responsible piece.
"You took a bath today in clean, potable water. Without even asking, you were served a glass of water at lunch. It is nearly impossible for us to imagine life without water, yet there are almost a billion people worldwide that do not have clean, safe water to drink," said MATT & NAT founder and creative director Inder Bedi. "Here, in the western world, we create unnecessary waste with all the bottles from the water we consume. This is what initially inspired us to reuse an average of 21 water bottles to create each MATT & NAT accessory. When I discovered charity: water and its mission to provide access to clean and safe drinking water to the billion people who live each day without this basic yet necessary resource, I couldn't think of a better organization to support. This Earth Day we are proud to be able to stand behind their efforts."
The limited edition Ikat collection features three styles: the Hendrix, Santogold and Zocalo in shades of purples to deep blues inspired by the water bodies of the planet.
The limited edition Ikat collection in honor of Earth Day will be available in the U.S. exclusively on www.mattandnat.com until April 25. The price range for the collection is $165 to $195.
