According to the June Dealer of the Month , Bill Siegmund of Pure Water Works Inc., “some of the best water and some of the worse water we’ve ever seen comes from northern Michigan,” where his dealership is located. Geographic characteristics can cause each well to have different taste and odor issues, and farming adds additional potential for contamination. Challenging water quality issues do not scare Siegmund however—he even chose to locate his first retail location in Traverse City because the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had declared it a contaminated site (it is no longer on EPA’s list).
Every dealer knows that water quality can vary from region to region, town to town, and even well to well. What water quality challenges do you face in your service area? How do you approach treatment for the local water quality? Let us know at [email protected] .
