Conference will celebrate 10th anniversary Oct. 16 to 18 in Indianapolis
World Aquatic Health Conference (WAHC) organizers announced that Deborah Phelps will deliver a keynote presentation to mark the 10th anniversary of the event. The conference is slated for Oct.16 to 18, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Indianapolis. Phelps, an educator and author of the book, “A Mother for All Seasons,” is also America’s most well known “swim mom.”
Phelps is a highly sought-after motivational speaker who addresses a range of topics related to education, child development and life lessons. She is currently director of the Education Foundation of the Baltimore County Public Schools and has earned significant honors for her business and community work.

WAHC will once again be hosted by NSPF and the Aquatic Physical Therapy Section of the American Physical Therapy Assn. The Aquatic Physical Therapy Section will hold its Aquatic Summit in conjunction with the WAHC. Pre- and post-conference events will be announced, and several leadership meetings are planned during the same week. Each year, academic, industry and government experts present high-level sessions in diverse topic areas. Attendees share the latest research in an intimate environment to understand emerging issues, exchange ideas and formulate future plans. A cross section of industry segments attends, including leaders from academia, associations, nonprofits, building, consulting, retail, distributing, manufacturing, service, aquatic facilities, public health/government, health and medical.
More than 400 attendees gathered at the 2012 WAHC, representing 41 states and eight countries. International attendees came from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Italy, Mexico, Spain and the Ukraine. Forty-six percent of the attendees were high-level decision makers, including CEOs, presidents, owners, vice presidents and directors.
