It’s been a busy fall so far – at the beginning of September, the Water Quality Products staff attended the Water Quality Assn. (WQA) Mid-Year Leadership Conference in Lake Tahoe, Nev., and just a few weeks later, we headed out to Lancaster, Pa., for the Eastern Water Quality Assn.’s annual tradeshow .
Another show is on the horizon as some of the WQP staff heads to Burbank, Calif., next week for the Pacific Water Quality Assn. (PWQA) Annual Convention , running from Oct. 8 to 11. (Meanwhile, some of us are staying here in Chicago for WEFTEC.13 , Oct. 5 to 9 – did I mention it was a busy fall?)
This year, the PWQA convention is putting a focus on sustainability, with a variety of education sessions taking on different aspects of this topic. On Thursday, Oct. 10, Chubb Michaud of Systematix Co. will start the morning with “The Philosophy of Sustainability,” focusing on some of the regulatory factors involved in sustainability. Other sessions throughout the morning will include “Evolving Technologies for the Future” (Kerry Quinn of Culligan Intl.), “Gray Water Reuse” (Greg Reyneke of Red Fox Advisors) and “The Benefits of Soft Water” (Dave Haataja of WQA).
The convention also will feature exhibition hours on Oct. 10 and 11 (including my favorite part, the ice cream social at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday), as well as several evening events – the Banquet Dinner and Industry Awards on Wednesday and the Casino Night Reception on Thursday.
If you’re attending either PWQA or WEFTEC, be sure to stop our booths and say hi – we would love to hear your take on these events (at WEFTEC, we will be at the Water & Wastes Digest booth, #907).
