Léger Foundation and Global Medic hold bucket-drilling day to provide 1,000 water filters
Following the damage caused by Typhoon Haiyan, thousands of Filipino families are still homeless today, with no access to clean drinking water. "Our team of volunteers on the ground has already distributed water to over 10,000 people, but it's still far from being enough! Now, we must give the population the equipment and training they need to filter water themselves and increase the number of people who have access to this vital resource," explains Norman MacIsaac, executive director of the Léger Foundation.
On Saturday Dec.14, with the help of its volunteer network and partner agency Global Medic, the Léger Foundation held a bucket-drilling day to prepare 1,000 water filters. Each of these filters will provide drinking water to a Filipino family for at least one year.
