AT&T’s latest “It’s Not Complicated” commercial – you know, the ones with the cute kids sitting around the table saying funny things – features a boy talking about his “New Year’s revolution.” It turns out that his revolution is just a resolution to eat more gummy bears, but the joke got me thinking.
While most people associate the term “New Year’s resolution” with personal goals, it can apply to business goals too. Could the changes you make to your business this year make a big enough impact to call them “revolutionary?”
The key to making a resolution stick – revolutionary or otherwise – is to ensure that you can track and measure your progress in implementing changes. In the case of a business goal, it also may mean finding way to keep your employees accountable for their progress as well.
