The year got off to a wintry start this week, with most of the country affected by the freezing temperatures of the polar vortex. With dangerously low wind chills and treacherously icy roads, it was hard to get back into the swing of regular work and school schedules.
These low temperatures also had the potential to wreak havoc on water treatment and distribution equipment. Frozen or burst pipe – leading, of course, to flooded rooms and damaged property – have been the most common issues I have heard about from people far and wide via social media.
What issues with equipment have you or your customers encountered during the deep freeze? What are your tips on keeping systems and piping in top shape when the temperatures dip down low? Let us know in the comments, or e-mail us at email@example.com .
