A Smart Phone for Smart Business
For the featured Dealer of the Month for April, Charlie Dill of CD Environmental (Newburgh, Ind.), one tool has recently become indispensible: his smart phone. Dill said that he uses it for tasks such as checking e-mails and staying up to date with customer orders.
For small business owners like Dill, who often must divide their time between the office and working in the field, devices such as smart phones and tablets can be extremely valuable for keeping up with the many day-to-day tasks that go into running a company. There are many apps available to help owners and employees stay organized while in the field, from e-mail to calendars to maps — and those are just the basics.
Additionally, many companies have begun to use tablets to aid their sales presentations. RainSoft, for example, offers an app for its dealers that allows customers to input their information to see how water treatment could benefit them. Not only does it help customers participate in the sales presentation, it also presents information in a compact, easy-to-understand way.
