Water Conservation Tour Touts Saving Water in Home
Tour intends to save water by replacing old or leaking bathroom fixtures with innovative, water-efficient plumbing products
Drops of water are hard to count, but gallons can be measured. The Responsible Bathroom Water Conservation Tour, sponsored by American Standard, has been criss-crossing the U.S. since April, with the goal to conserve 2 billion gal of water by the tour's end Dec. 1. So far, the tour is nearly halfway to its goal.
The tour intends to save water by replacing old or leaking bathroom fixtures with innovative, water-efficient plumbing products.
Since water conservation starts at home, the tour will show how an
average four-person household can save 48,326 gal of water a year
using water-saving bathroom fixtures.
Numbers also are provided for the biggest volume users of water,
such as universities, hospitals, corporations, retail, multi-family
housing and hotels.
The tour is visiting over 300 plumbing wholesale locations in a
44-ft-long, walk-through mobile showroom. The public is welcome
free of charge to walk through the mobile showroom. About 170 events
have been completed, with thousands of people attending.
