The summit will focused on waterborne disease prevention in healthcare facilities
Phigenics LLC is hosting the Healthcare Smart Water Leadership Summit June 6 and 7 in Chicago at the Gleacher Center, University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. Leading experts from major healthcare systems, government agencies and standards organizations will discuss how well-run multifunctional water management teams can achieve and confirm water safety while driving down costs for healthcare facilities.
"We had been concerned with water quality at our hospitals and clinics for a number of years, and about three years ago we decided to assemble a water management team and prepare a water management plan as recommended in the proposed ASHRAE 188P standard [Prevention of Legionellosis Associated With Building Water Systems]," said Dale Krageschmidt, Ph.D., CIH, of the Mayo Clinic. "This has been one of the smartest infection prevention and control strategies that we have ever implemented. Taking a proactive approach to evaluate critical control points and make corrective actions as necessary will undoubtedly protect our patients and employees in the future. We are looking forward to sharing our story and hearing others' at the Healthcare Smart Water Leadership Summit."
