WEDECO Granted NSF/ANSI Standard 55, Class A Certification for Residential UV Products

August 13, 2003

WEDECO UV Technologies, Inc., North America’s leading provider of ultraviolet disinfection technology for water treatment has been granted NSF/ANSI Standard 55, Class A certification for four models within its DLR series of residential UV products.

The Class A certification for disinfection of microbiologically contaminated water that meets all other public health standards represents NSF’s most stringent standard for UV system certification. Certified units include the DLR™ Series "M" models 1, 2, 4 and 7 for treatment capacities of 4, 10, 18 and 30 gallons per minute (gpm) respectively.

With this certification, WEDECO now has the most models with Class A certification of any UV manufacturer and the widest range of certified flow capacities (up to 30 gpm). This in itself gives the company the ability to provide the general public with a system that meets or exceeds all of the needs for properly disinfecting water within any home. Every DLR™- M series unit is certified to deliver the Class A standard UV dose of more than 40 millijoules per square centimeter (mJ/cm2). n addition to being the Class A standard, 40 mJ/cm2 is the recommended UV dose for drinking water by the U.S. EPA as well as most European governments. This certification enables WEDECO residential customers to feel assured that their drinking water will always be safely and effectively disinfected.
