WQA Board of Directors Approves Establishment of New Southeast Asia Task Force
Association’s second international task force to discuss concerns of the Southeast Asia POU and POE water treatment companies
At the request of the international members, the Water Quality Assn’s (WQA) International Section is in the process of developing its second international task force: the Southeast Asia Task Force. The Southeast Asia Task Force will focus on the needs of WQA member companies located in the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam.
The task force will be responsible for developing meeting agendas and hosting a meeting one or two times per year at the task force chair’s facility or at a local hotel or tradeshow to discuss the issues and concerns of the Southeast Asia point-of-use (POU) and point-of-entry (POE) water treatment companies.
Some currently recognized concerns of Southeast Asia manufacturers are local testing standards and regulations, consumer education, certifying products in the United States, promoting and implementing certification of sales and installation personnel, promoting the POU and POE industry in Southeast Asia and protecting that industry in Southeast Asia. A WQA representative will be present at each meeting to take minutes and ensure the meeting is conducted in accordance with WQA policies.
Your company must have a presence in Southeast Asia; and
Your company must be willing to participate with the Task Force for two years.
Benefits of participation, according to WQA, include enhanced credibility:
Water treatment professionals can enhance their credibility and demonstrate their depth of knowledge and experience to both customers and employers through WQA’s professional certification program.
Another benefit is marketplace protection: WQA supports its members’ initiatives and protects their interests through regulatory intervention and legislative support. WQA provides leadership and influence at all regulatory levels to benefit the industry and consumers without restricting trade. WQA serves as a resource and partner to members seeking help on legislative issues.
