The collaboration will support water technology startups in Ontario
BlueTech Research announced its collaboration with the Water Technology Acceleration Project (WaterTAP) by providing access to market intelligence resources through the BlueTech Research membership Insight Service.
The research firm said in a statement that the collaboration will “further accelerate the success of water technology companies in Ontario.”
Under the agreement, WaterTAP and BlueTech will work together to create preferential access for Ontario, Canada-based water technology companies to the BlueTech Research membership Insight Service. The service will provide water technology companies with access to market intelligence and competitive landscape mapping resources via the online BlueTech 7.0 Intelligence Platform, as well as direct access to water technology market experts.
The program involves three tiers of support, tailored to address the needs of companies at different stages in their evolution. Support ranges from à la carte access to specific market and technology Insight Reports through to strategic market entry support in consultation with industry experts from BlueTech Research and O2 Environmental.
“This partnership marks a wonderful opportunity for Ontario’s water technology startups and growth-stage companies,” said Brian Mergelas, CEO of WaterTAP. “Many early-stage companies operate in an information vacuum — it is vital that companies have an understanding of their technology development and commercialization path, a clear idea of the existing and future competitive landscape, and validation of the market potential and need for their technology. By supporting access to highly relevant market research, we can help Ontario-based companies to better understand the markets they are addressing, which can accelerate their growth and shorten timelines for commercialization and profitability.”
The opportunity offered by WaterTAP and facilitated by BlueTech Research will “place a wealth of market and technology information in the hands of water technology startups.”
“We are delighted to support WaterTAP’s mission to accelerate Ontario’s water technology success,” said BlueTech Research CEO Paul O’Callaghan. “Our focus on innovation and deep domain expertise in the water sector allows us to identify market growth opportunities for our clients through our research-driven platform. In addition to counting many of the global water industry leaders among our clients, we have worked with some of the most high-profile successful water technology startups. We see many synergies between our core areas of research and WaterTAP’s mandate, so we are tremendously excited to begin supporting the excellent water technology companies in Ontario.”
This WaterTAP Market Insight Program will come into effect in December 2014, when specific details on the administration of the program and the application process will be announced.
