Like much of the Midwest, the Chicago area is experiencing extreme weather today – the thunder has been booming for the last 24 hours, and storms, flooding and wind are affecting much of the region. With the storm system currently ranging from Texas to Canada, a large portion of the country is facing the same conditions we are experiencing here (some even getting snow!).
With weather like this, it’s hard to remember that we are quickly approaching the summer season – which also means swimming season. And one key to keeping swimmers happy and healthy throughout the summer is a properly treated pool.
While chlorine remains the gold standard for treatment of harmful waterborne pathogens, newer systems are now available to help supplement it. Technologies such as ultraviolet, ozone and more can provide additional pool disinfection and help reduce the need for chemicals.
