Online public comment open through July 22
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency published the Water Infrastructure and Finance Innovation Act (WIFIA) May 23 and is seeking public comment.
Through much of April, industry experts and organizations met with members of Congress in Washington, D.C., to urge legislators to improve infrastructure funding throughout the country. The public comment portion for the proposed act will be open through July 22.
The collection of information is necessary in order to receive applications for credit assistance pursuant to the 2014 Water Resources Reform Development Act, which also included a WIFIA portion.
WIFIA aims to provide federal credit assistance in the form of direct loans and loan guarantees to eligible clean water and drinking water projects.
