Fluoride Filters Can Reduce Exposure to Fluoride in Public Drinking Water

The filters are an option for reducing exposure to fluoride, an additive used to help prevent dental disease that is found in many brands of toothpaste and mouthwash and is also often added to drinking water by public suppliers.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency set an enforceable drinking water standard for fluoride at 4 mg/L. It also set a secondary standard of 2 mg/L to protect against dental fluorosis.
