Pennsylvania-Amer Water Buys Lehman Pike Water Assets

American Water Works Company's Pennsylvania-American Water Company unit has acquired the water and wastewater assets of Lehman Pike Water & Sewer Company for $4 million.

In a press release Wednesday, Pennsylvania-American Water said the deal expands its water and wastewater customer base by 9,500 people in Monroe and Pike Counties.

The company will leave water rates unchanged and plans to complete groundwater facility reliability improvements and sewer lift station upgrades.

Pennsylvania -American serves more than 2 million residents in Pennsylvania.
