Hydraulic Institute Opens Registration for Fall Meeting

HI to offer group, young engineer and early registration discounts

The Hydraulic Institute (HI) announced that the annual HI Fall Meeting will take place Oct. 23 to 27, 2012, at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tenn. Registration is now open to HI members, associate members, standards partners, and utilities and energy-efficiency NGOs that are sponsors of Pump Systems Matter. Eligible prospective members are welcome to attend with advance approval. Registration can be completed at www.pumps.org/12fall.

This year’s Fall Meeting will focus on pump system optimization, pump efficiency rule making, pump testing and certification programs, international trade updates, standards development and the use of social media in the pump industry.
All CEO attendees are invited to the bi-annual CEO Roundtable event that will feature group discussions on topics of common interest, including how to deal with the challenges of recruiting engineers, managing remote employees and retaining knowledge as baby boomers retire.
Nearly 30 HI technical committees will meet to review and advance specific areas of knowledge and work that ultimately will result in the development of new or updated ANSI/HI pump standards. Attendees with particular topic interest or subject matter expertise will have the opportunity to participate in these technical meetings. Young engineers are particularly encouraged to attend.
To encourage meeting attendance by young engineers, HI is offering a 50% discount on registration to individuals at member companies who are under the age of 35 and have served less than 10 years in the pump industry. HI also is offering a group discount, as well as an early bird discount to individuals who register on or before Sept. 14, 2012.
