West Coast water treatment industry fixture dies
Kenneth R. “Chach” Ciaccio Sr. died March 12. Ciaccio was the founder and president of KC Intl., a filter media service and supply company.
Ciaccio is survived by his mother, Carmen Ciaccio; wife, Adele; and son, Kenneth G. Ciaccio Jr.
Ciaccio was born in Montreal in 1945 and attended the University of Detroit where he received a chemical engineering degree in 1969. He received an MBA from Case Western Reserve University in 1973, as well.
Prior to founding KC Intl., Ciaccio worked in the activated carbon and ion exchange industry for ResinTech Inc.
In his youth, he played hockey and was signed as a shortstop for the New York Mets. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed visiting the Santa Anita Park racetrack where he had ownership interest in some racing horses. He also enjoyed karaoke.
A memorial service, including a dedicated horse race, was held at the Santa Anita Park racetrack May 14.
