Dr. Pat Breysse to deliver keynote at Legionella Conference 2019; WQA Mid-Year Leadership Conference focused on the future
Keynote Announced for Legionella Conference 2019
Pat Breysse, Ph.D., director of the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, will deliver the keynote address at the Legionella Conference 2019, to be held Sept. 11 to 13 in Los Angeles.
Dr. Breysse, who leads CDC’s efforts to investigate the relationship between environmental factors and health, will open the conference Sept. 11. Hosted by NSF Intl. and the National Environmental Health Assn., Legionella Conference 2019: Building Water Systems − The Sustainability & Public Health Nexus will explore complex water systems, cooling towers, proactive water quality monitoring and related public health topics.
WQA Mid-Year Leadership Conference Focuses on Future
Keynotes from government leaders, water treatment industry updates, opportunities to share opinions in committee meetings or a town hall, and events to benefit the Water Quality Research Foundation are among the events planned for the Water Quality Assn.’s Mid-Year Leadership Conference Sept. 9 to 11 in San Antonio, Texas. Registration is open now at the event’s new website, wqa.org/mylc.

Plumbing Manufacturers Intl. Opens Registration for PMI19 Conference
Plumbing Manufacturers Intl. (PMI) opened registration for the PMI19 Conference, with early bird registration continuing until July 31. Focusing on “Manufacturing Success,” the conference will be held from Nov. 4 to 7 at The Don Cesar hotel in St. Pete Beach, Fla.
This year’s conference will feature PMI’s first Aspiring Leaders’ Program; keynote speakers Lindsey Pollak and Joel Zeff, who will also serve as emcee; and sessions on issues, including multi-generational leadership, workforce development, sustainability, accessibility design, industry economic trends, trade and tariffs, consumer data protection, water reuse, lead in water, the U.S. EPA’s WaterSense program, technical topics, and much more.
