Summit will unite diplomats, industry leaders and international organizations to advance innovations in clean water and sustainable development
MagneGas Corp. will host the UN World Water Day Summit on March 23, 2015, at the United Nations headquarters in New York City in partnership with the Jack Brewer Foundation and the U.S. Federation for Middle East Peace (USFMEP). This summit will give MagneGas the opportunity to introduce its sterilization system to industry leaders and international organizations to facilitate global expansion of the technology for the treatment of sewage and agricultural waters.
In 1993, the UN General Assembly designated March 22 as the first World Water Day. Twenty-two years later, World Water Day is celebrated around the world, highlighting a different issue every year. In 2015, the theme is “Water and Sustainable Development.” In keeping with the theme, the UN World Water Day Summit will feature panel discussions on "Waste Water and Irrigation Challenges" and "Sustainable Innovations for Water Procurement" as well as special guest speakers.
The event will provide a platform for dialogue surrounding sustainable development and global efforts to manage clean water. UN ambassadors and diplomats, and industry leaders including sustainability companies and environmental organizations, will spend the day focusing on the challenges many regions of the world face when it comes to the availability and necessity of clean water and innovative solutions will be highlighted and addressed.
"With approximately 2.5 billion people living without basic sanitation facilities, and an estimated 748 million people lacking access to improved sources of drinking water, sustainable innovations and practices must lead the way," said MagneGas CEO Ermanno Santilli. "As an endorser of the UN Global Compact's CEO Water Mandate, we at MagneGas Corp. stand behind our pledge to provide opportunities to make a positive impact in the emerging global water crisis and advance sustainable solutions. This event will provide a framework for those with innovative products, services, ideas and practices to come together to further the progression of accessibility to clean water for those in need."
