AHR Expo Announces the 2020 Innovation Award Winners
AHR Expo Show Management announced the winners of the 2020 AHR Expo Innovation Awards competition. Hosted annually by the AHR Expo, products in 10 industry categories are recognized for their innovative contribution to HVACR. The winning products, technologies and systems from each award category will be formally recognized during the 2020 AHR Expo, Feb. 3 to 5 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Additionally, one of the category winners will be recognized as the most inventive and original product and will receive the 2020 Product of the Year Award. The ceremony is open to all show attendees and is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 1:00 pm EST.
“We had more entries submitted for the 2020 Innovation Awards than we’ve ever had,” said Mark Stevens, AHR Expo show manager. “This speaks volumes to the advancement and outstanding innovation happening within the HVACR industry at the moment. DuPont to Acquire Membrane Business from Evoqua Water Technologies Corp.
DuPont announced it has signed an agreement to acquire the Memcor business, including ultrafiltration and membrane biofiltration technologies from Evoqua Water Technologies Corp. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2019, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
"Our strategic intent for the Water Solutions business is to have a robust portfolio of technologies so that our talented global organization can leverage a broad range of solutions to solve our customers' most pressing challenges," said DuPont CEO Marc Doyle. "Recently, we announced the intended acquisition of BASF's ultrafiltration membrane business. This second announcement reinforces our commitment to invest in specialty solutions aligned with high growth, attractive end markets where our continued innovation and customer relationships add value."
The Evoqua ultrafiltration and membrane biofiltration (MBR) technologies add to DuPont's portfolio of water purification and separation capabilities, including ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis and ion exchange resins. Together, with the intended acquisition of BASF's ultrafiltration business, which is also expected to close by the end of 2019 subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, DuPont will be even better positioned to provide the products, technology and geographic diversification needed to meet current and future customer demand.
LG Sonic a Winner of European Business Awards
LG Sonic became a National Winner for the Netherlands in the Social Responsibility and Environmental Awareness Award category. The judges recognized LG Sonic for its environmentally friendly technology, which is used to eliminate harmful algal blooms in more than 54 countries.
“This is a significant achievement and LG Sonic is an outstanding leader in their field,” said Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards. “To be chosen as a National Winner means you show great innovation, ethics, and success and are one of the best businesses in Europe.”
