Attendees at this year’s event will debate key environmental, economic and market developments
This year's Global Bottled Water Congress takes place from Oct. 8 to 10 in Barcelona, Spain, with the industry gathering to debate key environmental, economic and market developments. Under the theme of natural value, senior representatives from companies such as Coca-Cola, Danone, Nestlé, Vichy Catalan and Unicer will be speaking and leading discussions over the three-day summit on innovations in packaging, global market perspectives and growth in emerging markets.
Scott Vitters, general manager - PlantBottle Packaging Platform for the Coca-Cola Co., lead the dialogue at the Congress, saying, "Significant economic, environmental and social shifts are creating change and uncertainty in the world today. Along with these changes are unprecedented opportunities for those that can advance innovative solutions that deliver shared value for both the bottom line and society at large.”
Zenith Intl. chairman Richard Hall believes it is vital for the industry to meet and debate the key market trends. "Economic pressures and changing consumer attitudes are forcing companies to review investment and innovation strategies," he said. "Meeting in one of the world's most vibrant and popular destinations, our 9th Congress aims to explore how the industry can unlock the natural value of bottled water and maximise its potential for future growth."
Other highlights of the congress include: a regional market overview with speakers from Vichy Catalan and Unicer, followed by global perspectives from Zenith Intl., Danone, Hassia and Nestlé; more insights on advances in plant-based packaging from Avantium, Braskem and Fonti di Vinadio; analysis of growth in emerging markets by Arisaig, Tibet 5100, Ajegroup and Wayfield Refriango; and a review of closure innovation from SmartSeal and Closure Systems Intl. The second day will feature new consumer priorities with Ketchum PR, Digital Foodie and Emnos; product innovation with Coca-Cola, First Beverage Group, 82Go and Devin; and a panel discussion on bottled water alternatives with the European Federation of Bottled Waters and FoodBev Media. Zenith Intl. will conclude with a global update on flavoured and functional waters.
