RainSoft Founder John Grayson Dies at Age 88

Grayson was winner of WQA's Ray Cross Award in 2003

Water Quality Assn. (WQA) member and water treatment industry professional John Grayson passed away on Nov. 28 at the age of 88. He was the owner of RainSoft in Elk Grove Village, Ill. Grayson earned the WQA Ray Cross Award in 2003 for his contributions to the water quality industry.

The company Grayson founded has been in business since 1953. In addition to its numerous dealerships across the U.S., RainSoft also operates in 20 other countries.

Grayson had been ill for several years after complications of hip replacement surgery. He has donated his body to science, and there will be no funeral or service. His family has requested, in lieu of flowers, for memorial donations to be made in Grayson’s name to Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah.
