WQA to lead a tour of a large California desalination plant prior to the event
Registration opened for the 2017 Water Quality Assn. (WQA) Leadership Conference. The event will be held Sept. 12 to 14 at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego, Calif. Before the WQA Leadership Conference kicks off, attendees can view one of the largest public-private partnership water projects in California. WQA will host a limited number of attendees for a tour of the 50 million gpd/56,000-acre-ft-per-year desalination plant located adjacent to the Encina Power Station in nearby Carlsbad, Calif. Tour participants will see the facility and its operations, learn the history of the project, and hear about its 30-year water agreement with the San Diego County Water Authority to produces 50 million gal of desalinated seawater every day.
