The certification demonstrates that their products’ ingredients have been evaluated for health effects and are safe for use in drinking water products.

The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF), a testing and certification organization in the water industry, has announced that Indofil Industries Limited has become the first client in India to earn certification for NSF Guideline 533.

Indofil Industries Limited is a research-led and fully integrated Chemical Company. It earned certification to NSF Guideline 533 for its KM40, KM355S, KM455 and KM455L impact modifier products. Indofil Industries Limited is NSF’s first client in India to receive this certification, which demonstrates that their products’ ingredients have been evaluated for health effects and are safe for use in drinking water products. Additionally, this is the first client in the world to have an impact modifier certified to NSF Guideline 533.

NSF Guideline 533 is a new guideline that NSF launched in January 2023. The guideline covers ingredients such as resins, stabilizers, carbon black, lubricants, solvents, and colorants used in CPVC, PE, Nylon, and other materials. Certified ingredient manufacturers can use the dedicated NSF mark to demonstrate that their product meets the NSF Guideline 533 requirements as reviewed by a third party.

“We are honored to be the first company to earn this certification in India. Utilizing the highly respected NSF mark will increase our competitiveness in the worldwide market and demonstrate our commitment to quality and safe drinking water,” said Dr. Atchutuni Rao, Director at Indofil.
