New Filter Series Provide More Treatment Options

April 19, 2019

An alternative to small or inefficient or stainless steel housings, the Enpress Cartridge Tank offers extended life and service and a cost-effective and efficient filtration solution.

It is a direct replacement for inefficient 2.5- or 4.5-in. or stainless steel housings, designed for residential and Ccmmercial installations and applications. Six filtration series options are now available: Green (0.2-micron filtration), Orange (standard double pleat), Yellow (string wound with meltblown core), Blue (carbon block), and Red or Purple (high-flow installations). Each series offers unique filtration capacities and flow rates from residential to 150 gal per minute (gpm).

Enpress recently announced the introduction and availability of the two newest filtration solutions for its Cartridge Tank system housing for point-of-entry (POE) installations, the Yellow and Blue series.

The Yellow series is combination filters of an outer layer of polypropylene string with a meltblown polypropylene core. There are two initial filtration solutions: 20-micron string-wound outer layer with a 5-micron meltblown polypropylene core, and 50-micron string-wound outer layer with a 20-micron meltblown polypropylene core.

These ONE - Water Filtration Simplified dual media filters provide a cost-effective, extended-service-life product capable of capturing a broad range of particulates, with high service flow rates up to 60 gpm with less than 15 Delta P. The outer prefilter is manufactured using 100% polypropylene yarn wound in a precise pattern to capture 20 or 50 microns, or larger, thus extending the service life of the inner filter. The outer filter will capture fine sediment, sand, silt, rust and scale particles. The 5- or 20-micron meltblown inner filter is manufactured using thermally bonded polypropylene fibers offering minimal pressure drop and consistent downstream flow without fiber migration. All components and materials are FDA approved.

The Blue series is POE carbon block filters that are made using high-performance coconut shell carbon, which has more micro pores than other types of carbon, coupled with a unique binder system that delivers a product with superior adsorption capacity and kinetic dynamics. There are two initial filtration solutions: 3-micron carbon block, high capacity; and 20-micron carbon block, high porosity/low pressure drop.

This ONE - Water Filtration Simplified combination of high performance carbon, unique binders and proprietary manufacturing process delivers exceptionally low pressure drop, high dirt-holding capacity and excellent contaminant reductions. The 3-micron-rated filter has been third-party tested to treat 250,000 gal of water at 7gpm with 2 ppm of chlorine. The Blue series is ideal for a wide range of residential, food service, commercial and industrial applications, and is effective at reducing unwanted bad taste and odor, along with chlorine taste and odor from potable drinking water. The filters are ideal as polishing or prefilters in applications requiring fine filtration and high capacity.

All components and materials are FDA approved, manufactured from NSF 61-certified coconut shell carbon and are California Prop 65 compliant.

The patent-pending Cartridge Tank filtration system features an easy-to-access top-and-bottom opening for use with multiple filtration connections and solutions in a lightweight and cost-effective package. This 100% non-metallic filtration solution is available with multiple configuration options.

It is specifically designed for residential, light commercial and commercial installations and applications, including but not limited to:

  • Whole-house POE requirements, whether for city or well water applications;
  • Extreme loading conditions, reverse osmosis systems and any other pretreatment applications in which high service flow and low pressure drop requirements are required or desirable;
  • Customers that are tired of having to change their small 2.5- or 4-in. filters on a weekly or monthly basis;
  • Replacement for expensive stainless steel housings (the Cartridge Tank has a 100% composite design); and
  • Most problem water issues in which particulate-contaminated water or taste and odor are of concern. The Cartridge Tank has lower shear velocity that can load properly with particulates, unlike conventional filtration.

Enpress’ exclusive co-polymer polypropylene liner formulation provides superior performance in both hot and cold temperature environments, along with superior chemical, impact and abuse resistance.

Enpess vessels are manufactured with an industry-exclusive liner design and formulation that offer superior benefits and features and are 100% made in the U.S.
