National Testing Laboratories Ltd. now offers testing packages that focus on water from city or municipal supplies. The City-Check product addresses contaminants that are likely to be found in these supplies. Three levels of testing provide flexible choices from basic to comprehensive analyses.

All National Testing Laboratories Ltd. packages analyze for disinfectants and disinfection byproducts. This includes free and total chlorine and chloramines, as well as the disinfection byproducts trihalomethanes, haloacetic acids, bromate and chlorite, which are commonly found in city water due to the Safe Drinking Water Act requirements for disinfection. These testing packages will alert the consumer to the levels of disinfectants and disinfection byproducts they are exposed to by the city water they consume. The analysis of the disinfectants and disinfection byproducts is the primary difference between the well water product, Watercheck testing packages, and the City-Check testing products.

City-Check Basic analyzes the most common contaminants found in municipal water supplies. These include five metals and minerals, six inorganics, four physical characteristics and 16 disinfectants and disinfection byproducts.

City-check Standard is a comprehensive testing package that includes the analysis of 17 metals and minerals, six inorganics, four physical characteristics, 16 disinfectants and disinfection byproducts and 47 volatile organic compounds.

City-Check Deluxe analyzes all the items in City-Check Standard, as well as an additional 20 pesticides, herbicides and PCBs. Cities that use surface water as their drinking water source are more likely to have pesticide contamination from runoff than supplies that are groundwater sources.
