Water Council Names Director of Finance & Operations

The Water Council has hired Amy Jensen as the organization’s first director of finance and operations. Jensen, who has served as the managing director for Skylight Music Theatre since 2009, will begin working for the Water Council on April 1, 2015. Prior to her role at Skylight, Jensen served in a number of finance-related roles in Milwaukee, including vice president and CFO for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, vice president of finance and administration for the United Performing Arts Fund, and audit manager for Ernst & Young LLP.

"Because of an inspiring and passionate presentation about the Water Council that Rich Meeusen [co-chair of the Water Council] gave a couple of months ago, this opportunity caught my attention immediately. The combination of economic development, research and education focused on such an important global resource is incredibly unique," Jensen said. "I've been impressed by how much the board and the staff have accomplished in such a short amount of time. I look forward to helping the Water Council prepare for the many exciting opportunities that lie ahead."

Jensen brings 20 years of experience in accounting and nonprofit management, is a certified personal accountant, and received her MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She received the Business Journal's CFO of the Year Award in 2008.

As director of finance and operations, Jensen will lead the development of the Water Council’s financial management strategy and oversee the organization’s operations, including developing and implementing all policies and procedures both in the finance and general operational realms.
